How to Repair an Office Search Engine
Introduction
An Office Search Engine, more often known as Ose.exe, will periodically malfunction and need to be repaired. The repair will depend on what version of Microsoft Office you are using but most of the steps are virtually the same regardless of the version. Repairing the Ose.exe file is basically the same as copying the original Ose.exe file from its Microsoft Office CD. If repairing the Ose.exe does not fix your problem, try troubleshooting other Microsoft potential problems.

-Microsoft Office CD
Instructions
Step 1
Put your Office software disc into the CD drive of your computer. Wait about 15 seconds for your computer to have a chance to recognize the new software.
Step 2
Move the mouse so that it is over the Start button in the lower left corner of the computer screen. Press the right-click button on the mouse. A window will pop up and one of the options will be the word "Explore." Click on that option.
Step 3
Find the path:\Files\Setup folder that is on the Microsoft Office CD using Microsoft Windows Explorer.
Step 4
Place the mouse over the Ose.exe file. Press the right-click button. Click "Copy" in the window that shows up.
Step 5
Click on the follow files in order to end up in the Source Engine folder:
path:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Source Engine
Step 6
Paste the Ose.exe file by right-clicking the Source Engine folder and pressing "Paste" in the window that pops up. If asked, say "Yes" to replacing an existing file.
Tip
The default location for the Ose.exe file is path:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Source Engine\. Your computer may have the file saved elsewhere so find the file's location before you begin trying to repair the Ose.exe.
